Better Balanced Futures is committed to engaging with and educating families, parents, communities and carers about the provision and access to Special Religious Education (SRE) in our public schools across NSW for all faith groups.

Special Religious Education (SRE) provides the foundation for life values in our children, to assist them to navigate in an ever-changing world.

LEARNING FROM HOME SUPPORT

COVID 19: Over recent months schools have been disrupted as we deal with the significant impact of COVID 19. The provision of SRE through SRE Teachers and lessons in the classroom has been temporarily withdrawn as our government determines the best and safest measures to protect both teachers and students.

During this time we remain committed to providing you with access to relevant resources that you can use at home with your children.

The following links have resources provided by different faith groups to support your child’s continued education through SRE. These resources will be continually updated over the coming weeks and months.

About us:

Better Balanced Futures is committed to engaging with and educating families, parents, communities and carers about the provision and access to Special Religious Education (SRE) in our public schools across NSW for all faith groups.

We understand that there are numerous external factors affecting children in primary and high school, many which are fuelled by social media. Our aim is to assist families to understand and value what is being taught in their child’s SRE classes and to appreciate that SRE is fun, valuable and worth attending. Our SRE teachers are caring and positive role models whose vision is to enrich children’s life and thinking.

In 2018 all approved providers implemented new policies and procedures which have been endorsed by the NSW Department of Education. All approved providers of all faiths have worked together to lift the standards and ensure that their curriculum is accountable and beneficial, which means that approved providers are certified to new standards.

Better Balanced Futures aims to continually improve the implementation and delivery of SRE.
